Recently Hoomum has discovered the RUFFWEAR®️ range of products.
I spend time off lead whenever possible but as I’m only 6 months old hoomum keeps me on the lead whenever we’re around traffic, other animals or out in a busy public place. Basically.. I can’t be trusted yet. I can understand it, if I see a leaf blowing in the wind, I’m going for it whether it involves running in front of a passing car or not. I want that leaf.
As you can probably imagine, I’m excited wherever we go and like to get everywhere quickly so I do have a tendency to pull on the lead. Because of this hoomum has been training me to walk nicely by her side or slightly out in front.
This is where the FLAT OUT™️ lead really comes into its own, it’s 1.8m long meaning I can be out in front slightly while still maintaining the loose lead hoomum desires and earning myself a treat. Everyone’s a winner!
You’ve probably noticed by now that hoomum takes quite a lot of photos of me (a ridiculous amount to be honest) so she likes to have her hands free. If she’s not taking photos she’s either looking at a map, flicking through whichever walking book we’re following or sipping from a flask of tea. With the FLAT OUT™️ lead she can have me on lead and still be hands free to do all of those things. She does this by opening the clip on the handle, looping it round her belt and then refastening it.
The lead is actually designed so that the length of the handle can be extended and worn around the waist but this reduces the overall length of the lead so hoomum prefers not to wear it like that.
Other features include a traffic handle (as shown above), an accessory loop for pickup bags or small clip-on items and a super strong talon clip which is designed for one-handed use.
The HOOPIE™️ collar is great too, very sturdy and well made. There is a safety clasp rather than a buckle, a strong stainless steel hoop for connecting the lead and a tag silencer so we don’t disturb wildlife while on our adventures. The size can also be adjusted which is great for me as I’m still growing.
If you have a pup who spends a lot of time outside with you on your adventures, you should check out the full range of collars, leads, harnesses and safety equipment.
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading.
